In the blink of an eye, the 42 days of postpartum confinement are over, and Auntie Leye will officially finish her placement tomorrow. Our whole family is very reluctant to see her go.
We are first-time parents. Even though we did our homework before the baby was born, we were still extremely anxious before the birth. After interviewing many postpartum nannies, we were lucky to meet Auntie Leye.
Auntie Leye is a Gold Medal postpartum nanny in Canada. She has a U.S.-registered Doula certificate, CPR certificate, Canadian registered traditional Chinese medicine certificate, registered lactation consultant certificate, and Canadian early childhood education certificate, and she has cared for more than 100 newborns.
Auntie is truly professional and full of love toward the baby. It is not perfunctory, work-style care, but heartfelt nurturing. Whether getting up in the middle of the night to feed the baby, changing diapers, doing early-education interaction during the day, or soothing the baby to sleep, Auntie never does things halfheartedly. Sometimes when the baby was upset or had gas, Auntie never became anxious or impatient; she always soothed gently and held the baby patiently. Because our whole family is very new at this, Auntie patiently taught us parenting experience throughout the postpartum period. When she was leaving, she also patiently guided us hands-on again and again as we practiced, encouraged us, and helped me get out of a flustered state.
What is even more worth mentioning is that Auntie was especially considerate toward me. I was very weak after giving birth and my emotions went up and down. Auntie was thoughtful in everything, taking care of my daily diet and routine as well as my emotions. The confinement meals Auntie made were not only light and nutritious, but also very delicious. Every day she made new dishes for us in different ways. Auntie also helped me massage and relax and cared for my body every day. When I had blocked milk ducts, Auntie also promptly helped me clear them.
Auntie is not only very professional, but also extremely hardworking. I feel like I almost never saw Auntie stop during the day. Auntie kept our kitchen and living room very clean, and she also washed the baby’s clothes and bibs very clean every day.
As first-time parents with our first child, meeting a postpartum nanny like Auntie Leye, who is loving, patient, and super professional, was truly very lucky!
