My practice is all about giving you the education and support you need before, during, and after birth. I have over 20 years of experience helping families like yours. My promise is simple: I want to help you create a birth experience that feels right for you. Together, we’ll build a birth plan that honors your values, beliefs, and preferences. You’ll also use the inner strength and intuition you already have, along with research-backed practices and my guidance. I especially work with women over 35, those with high-risk pregnancies, and those hoping for a VBAC. Since 2000, I’ve worked with childbearing families as a childbirth educator, doula, and wellness educator. I’ve helped hundreds of families through programs, workshops, and partnerships with non-profits. I continue to advocate for fair and safe birth choices, supporting families every step of the way—locally and nationally. I also welcome Christian families who want support that respects and honors their faith as part of their birth journey, while remaining inclusive to all families. -Breath of Life Christian Birthworkers Association -Black Christian Birth Workers Network -Girls on the Run Volunteer Coach **Past Board Member (2011- 2014) and Executive Director (2015 - 2021) Foundation for the Advancement of Midwifery** -Past Board President/Childbirth Education Association of Metropolitan NY (two terms)** -Past Membership Coordinator//Childbirth Education Association of Metropolitan NY (one term)** -Volunteer Bronx Doulas (2009 - 2013)** -Member of New York Coalition for Doula Access (since 2013)

I work with families covered by NYS Medicaid, including Managed Care, TriCare for military families, and Walmart employees. I believe every family should have access to the doula of their choice, which is why I also offer virtual doula services. These sessions provide emotional, informational, and social support for both you and your support person. My goal is to help you feel confident, informed, and supported throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. If you’re experiencing significant financial hardship, I will do my best to connect you with a qualified doula whenever possible, so every family can receive the care they need.

There are no words to express how thankful I am for everything Tamara did for us. She was amazing. It didn't occur to me that I wanted a doula until I was 38 weeks pregnant. A friend's midwife recommended Tamara, and just from our first phone call, I could sense that Tamara has a great energy about her. We had an appointment to meet up on a Monday, but I went into labor the Friday before that. Even though we had but a couple of phone calls, and had never met in person, Tamara came in and provided exactly what I needed, when I needed it. I had a very long labor, and Tamara was right there by my side for it all to make me comfortable both in body and mind. I will cherish my birth experience and how much better it was because she was there. Even though things didn't go exactly according to my birth plan, I don't regret anything. I feel like I made the right decisions at the time, and Tamara's guidance is a huge part of why I'm able to feel that way. It is 100% without hesitation that I would recommend Tamara as a doula to any of my friends.
