Vanessa is fantastic. We hired her as a doula for our first child's birth and could not have been happier with her. When we found out we were expecting child #2, it was a no-brainer decision to call her again! She truly listens to your birth vision and does everything she can to make it happen. I don't think I could have made it without her. I give her my highest recommendation. And an extra bonus were the amazing photos she took during both births!

Vanessa was our doula for the birth of our son Ivan. I was very nervous about drug-free labor & delivery beforehand even though I knew that was how I wanted to do it. I opted to have a doula with us because I felt like I was more likely to be able to handle it with extra support. Vanessa did an excellent job of preparing us for the whole process so that I recognized what was happening and had an idea about what the timeline would be when labor first started. I didn't panic like I thought I might. I called her, and we talked about my contractions and how it was all progressing. Because it was my first time, I felt less comfortable staying home as long as the doctor had told me to. It felt to me like things were progressing pretty quickly, and I wanted to go to the hospital. Vanessa respected my input on that and met us there right away. (I was so glad I had decided to work with her - my poor husband had the stomach flu and was unable to be the extra support I had planned on.) I'm not going to go into the details of the labor & delivery, but I did it. Twelve hours later our Ivan was born, and I felt like Superwoman. Most of the labor was a haze but I had Vanessa holding my hand and cheering me on, and I did it. I can't thank her enough for coaching me through that and helping me to have the most empowered birth experience I could. I would work with her again in a heartbeat. ~Amy
